No lights, no fan, no response
Possible causes include charger, charging-port, battery, internal power or motherboard faults. Test with the correct known-good charger where possible and avoid repeatedly forcing power if there are burning smells or visible damage.
Lights are on but there is no picture
This may be a display path, RAM, BIOS/UEFI or other startup problem. See the black-screen guide if the device appears to be running.
Powers on but Windows does not start
Storage failure, damaged startup files, BIOS/UEFI changes, failed updates or memory problems can stop Windows from booting. A diagnostic should determine whether the problem is software, storage or another component.
After a BIOS update?
Do not keep interrupting firmware recovery attempts. Failed firmware updates can require model-specific recovery or board-level work.
